How to check if my return was accepted/rejected

The Navigation page will display your status report with your acknowledgement status received by the IRS and Government Agency. The Status Report will display the following if applicable: 

• Current acknowledgement status,
• Tax return’s Submission ID,
• Acknowledgement date,
• If your return was rejected, the rejection code, reason for rejection, and help message
• Action Required/ No Action Required

To view e-file status 

1. Log in to your FileYourTaxes.com Free File account

2. Select Work With Filing to view your Status Report on the Navigation page

3. Select Get eFile status to check if your return is Accepted, Rejected or Pending
